I posted my xbox 360 for sale on Craigs List and I received a response from a woman named Janet who was “out of town,” and her son was over seas studying. Janet said that she will pay with paypal since she would like to get this transaction complete as soon as possible.
If you’re a fool, you would’ve taken “Janet’s” word for it. Craig created his list for local classified ads. He even makes it clear…
“DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON.”
Yes meet the folk who’s going to rape or kill you.
I decided to play along. “Janet” and I emailed each other back and forth. She told me she was even going to add $100 extra for shipping just to make sure her son will receive his entertainment system. I gave her “my paypal email address” so that she can send the money. She wrote back telling me that the payment has been sent. I didn’t get any info regarding a payment that has been sent to my email address. I wrote back to her and I said, “THANK YOU! I SHIPPED YOUR ITEM TODAY.” I laughed my ass off when the mailing address was Nigerian and “Janet Kovaskis” sons name was OLUSOLA ARIJOBA.
The email I received was BONK.
It said that I have been sent a payment but, I will not receive the payment unless I submit a factual USPS tracking number. I’m not a dummy. Paypal might hold your funds depending on your situation. Regardless if paypal holds the funds or not, you will not have a balance of $0.00.
I contacted paypal and they confirmed it was a fake account. DUH!
A few days later I received an email from “Janet” that said, “Make sure you give the shipping information to paypal or they won’t transfer the funds.” I told her I’m on it!!!
2 Days later I got an email from, DRUM ROLL.
THE FBI…. I didn’t know the FBI gets involved on matters regarding an xbox 360 that hasn’t been shipped. Look at the images. You will find them amusing!
